Lillie Beatrice McNeill February 27, 2010

Lillie Beatrice Grindstaff McNeill, age 89 of the Crabtree community, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. She was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Texie Whetstine Grindstaff and the wife of the late Edward McNeill. She was also preceded in death by her step sons, Ralph and Blanton McNeill, sisters, Peggy Lee, Mamie McNeill and Maudie Grindstaff; niece, Margie Angel and nephew, Lawrence McNeill. Lillie was a member of the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church. She retired from Breeden Poultry in Morganton.
Survivors include her nieces, Barbara Garland, Mable Whitson and Frances Stamey all of Spruce Pine; Marie Miller of York, SC, Wilma Haskins of Shelby, NC, Frankie Alexander of Elizabethton, TN, Paulette Buchanan of Burnsville, Carolyn Burleson and Bee Pittman both of Bakersville and Alma Lee of Marion, NC; nephew, Raymond Lee of Burnsville; cousin, Lena Grindstaff Phillips of Hickory and special friends, Beulah and Richard McKinney and Debra Hoyle.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 01, 2010 in the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Dallas Renfro, Fred Proctor and Richard McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery on Seven Mile Ridge. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
