Charles Fletcher Ayers March 10, 2010

Charles Fletcher Ayers, age 77, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Hillview Health Center in Elizabethton, TN. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Bascomb and Maggie Lee McCandless Ayers. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Edward Ayers, and a sister, Wilma Woody. He was a member of the Church Of God and also a proud Veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving is his son, Terry Allan Ayers and wife, Mary, of Seymour, TN; sister, Joyce Ann Watts of Burnsville; brothers: Ben Lee Ayers and wife, Delores, of Oteen, Bobby Joe Ayers and wife, Susie, of Weaverville, Royce Rom Ayers and wife, Kathy, Ernest Ayers and wife, Jackie, and Jimmy Ayers and wife, Nancy, all of Burnsville; sister-in-law, Geneva Ayers of Fletcher; brother-in-law, Paul Lee Woody of Burnsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 12th, in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. O.H. White and Rev. Rick Bennett will officiate. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 13th in the Robinson Cemetery on Bakers Creek.
