Albert W. McIntosh Sr.
Albert W. McIntosh Sr., age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30th, 2019. A native of Yancey County, Albert was a son of the late Rufus and Edith Bradford McIntosh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother-in-laws: Sammy Hilemon and Duff Wilson. Albert was a loving and dedicated dad and grandfather. He was a retired prison guard, but his work didn't stop there, he was a avid farmer, and worked at the Green Mountain Convention Center.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of fifty six years, Marie Rutherford McIntosh; son, William McIntosh Jr. and wife, Samanthia, of Plum Branch; daughter, Zenebia Ruth Cannon and husband, Eric, of Jacks Creek; grandchildren: Seth McIntosh and wife, Megan, of Clearwater, Florida, Mitchell Cannon and wife, Lacey, Dalton Cannon, Caleb Cannon and Olivia Cannon all of Burnsville; sisters: Zenebia Wilson of Greensboro and Linda Hilemon of Little Creek; brothers: Gene McIntosh of Little Creek and Blake McIntosh and wife, Cheryl, of Oxford, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Rev. Jack Wilson, Rev. Bobby Sprinkle, and family friend Bill Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rufus McIntosh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Barham, Stacey Wilson, Dalton Cannon, Mitchell Cannon, Caleb Cannon, and Seth McIntosh.
