Betty Jean Mosley Harrell, age 84, of Bakersville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2nd, 2019 at her home. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Dolly Green Mosley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Harrell; two grandchildren: Douglas Johnson and Junior Harrell and brothers: J.G. Mosley and Walter Mosley, Ben Mosley, Jr. Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother who made everyone feel welcome and loved. She enjoyed sitting on the porch playing with bubbles, making everyone laugh.
Surviving is her daughters: Dot Johnson and husband, James, of Buladean, Debra Forbes and husband, Carroll, of Bakersville and Mary Boone of Pumpkin Patch; sons: Gary Harrell and wife, Tessie, of Fork Mountain and Ricky Harrell and wife, Jennifer, of Hendersonville; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Preacher Jack Huskins, Pastor Shane Cassida and Pastor Brandon Harrell. Burial will follow in Fork Mountain Missionary Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
