Bill Morrow "Mule Man", age 74, of Fairview, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26th, 2019 at Mission Memorial Campus. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Jete and Elese Keydendall Morrow. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Kenneth and Walter Morrow. Bill was a logger and a farmer who loved working in tobacco, going on Wagon Trains and was well known for breaking mules and horses. He worked hard his whole life to provide for his five daughters and his loving wife, whom he adored.
Surviving is the love of his life of 55 years, Evelyn Bradford Morrow; children: Ruthie Morrow and husband, Michael Owenby, of Candler, Christine Holley and husband, Wes, of Fairview; Jennifer Odette and husband, Brian, of Candler, Crystal Morrow of Fairview and Laura Amerson and husband, Larry, of Fletcher; siblings: James Morrow of Fletcher, Eugene Morrow and wife, Virginia, of Fairview, Bernard Morrow and wife, Pat, of Asheville, Mary Mathis and husband, Stanley, and Fairview and Maffery Hensley and husband, Donnie, of Leicester; grandchildren: Kody, Nathan, Ivy, Jessica, Breanne, Alyssa, Savannah, Sydney, Sienna, Taylor, Kaden and Oviet; great-grandchildren: Axel, Oliver and one on the way. Several other step-grandchildren who he loved and other extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Jackie Silver will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Private Burial will be in the Piney Hill Cemetery.
