Elbert Crowder, 73, of Burnsville, went home to be with his Lord on May 28, 2019 at Mission Healthcare in Asheville, with his loving family gathered around. He was the son of the late Lewis and Susie Fisher Crowder. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and nine brothers. Elbert was a member of Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, showing off his counting dog, Casper, listening to bluegrass gospel music, and working with his pocket knife carving wooden canes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elva Buchanan Crowder; two sons: Gabe Crowder of Blountville, TN and Elbert Crowder Jr. and wife, Carol, of Greenville, TN; one daughter, Mary Jo Renfro and husband, Norman, of Burnsville; grandsons: Jacob Crowder and Shelly of Unicoi, TN, Specialist Kristopher Crowder and wife, Brianne, of Fort Sill, OK, Cody Renfro and Jonathan Renfro, both of Burnsville; granddaughters: Sergeant Erica Crowder of Hulbert Airfield, FL, Mary Crowder and Samantha Crowder, both of Greenville, TN; great-grandchildren: Kenna Crowder of Louisville, KY, Toby, Alice, and Olivia Crowder, all of Fort Sill, OK, Lane Renfro and Aaron Renfro, both of Burnsville.
He is also survived by three sisters: Louise Issacs of Burnsville, Barbara Honeycutt and husband, Kermit, of Burnsville and Dottie Boone and husband, Charles, of Hickory; two brothers: Keister Crowder and wife, Genivea, of Murphy, and Jo Crowder and wife, Pat, of Marion. Several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews also survive.
He will be dearly missed!
