June Silvers Knight, age 81, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Bernie and Pearl Taylor Pittman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Silvers who passed away in 1966. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rose Silvers. June worked many years at Blue Bell, then OMC until her retirement.
Surviving is her son, Ricky Silvers and wife, Diane of Burnsville; daughter, Cathy Silvers of Morganton; grandchildren: Crystal Silvers, Casey Hall and husband, Jarrod and Lee Nelson and wife, Erin; great-grandchildren: Dakota Silvers, Bentley Edmonds and Gracie Hall; brother, Tommy Pittman and wife, Barbara, of Burnsville; sister, Wanda Burleson and husband, Ralph, of Asheville and special companion, Donald Huskins of Burnsville. Several other extended family members also survive.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 7th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. A private burial will follow in the Cane River Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. TJ Robinson officiating.
