Katrinka Webb Doan, age 72, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 8th, 2018 at CarePartners John F. Keever Solace Center after two previous courageous battles with cancer. Katrinka was born in Erwin, TN to the late Jeter and Vola Johnson Webb. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Webb; grandson, Dalton Doan; brother-in-law, John Buckner; father-in-law, Jeff Doan and mother-in-law, Lela Doan. Katrinka was a graduate of Cane River High School, Class of 1963. She worked at K-Mart in Asheville for many years, providing excellent customer service and bookkeeping for the company. She later worked at the Buncombe County Clerk of Court, retiring after several years of service. Katrinka adored flowers and was fond of traveling as well as taking care of others. She and her husband, "J.D." loved camping at the KOA in Cherokee and have made many lifelong friends there.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Jeff David "J.D." Doan, Jr.; sons: Kendall Doan and wife, Karen, of Asheville and Johnny Doan and wife, Heather, of Maryville, TN; great-grandson, Bentley Doan; sisters: Lucille Webb and husband, Morris, of Chesterton, IN, Peggy Buckner, Polly Austin and husband, Stokes, Alice Witt and husband, Jim, all of Burnsville and Gail Reid of Canton, GA; brothers: Leacil Webb and Bob Webb and wife, Mary Ruth, all of Burnsville; best friends: Max and Margaret Rymer of Leicester, Charles and Jean Childers of Kernersville and Lawrence and Sharon Queen of Cherokee. Several nieces, nephews and many more friends also survive.
A gathering for Asheville family and friends will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10th at Macedonia Baptist Church Family Life Center in Alexander. A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday, October 12th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Horton Hill.
