Kenneth Edward Robinson, age 69, of the Indian Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Burdette and Juanita Gouge Robinson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marlon Christopher Robinson. Kenneth was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church who enjoyed fishing and hunting but mostly spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Lena Laws Robinson; his children: Maria McIntosh and husband, Adam, of Bald Mountain, James Robinson and fiancée, Leslie Cook, of Spruce Pine and Kelly Blevins and husband, Josh, of Busick; brother, Joe Robinson and wife, Vertie, of Bee Log; grandchildren: Toby McIntosh (Jessica), Tyara Hughes (Matt), Niki Robinson, Cheyenne Blevins and Maddie Rae Blevins and great-grandchildren: Levi McIntosh, Addison McIntosh, Nora Nell Hughes and Mira Jane Hughes.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28th at Indian Creek Baptist Church. Revs. Philip Garland, Tommy Murphy and Stacy Elkins will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to Rachel Lewis and all the staff of Compassionate Care of WNC for the wonderful care given to Kenneth. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Lena to help with expenses.
