Obituary

Kevin Wayne Geouge, age 56, of the Pleasant Gap Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 at Mission Campus after a long illness.  A native of Yancey County, he was a son of Douglas and Ellen Hoilman Geouge.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Wyatt and Viola Hoilman and Jonathan and Virginia Geouge; a sister, Angela Geouge and two nephews:  Terry Geouge and Christopher Geouge.  Kevin was an avid sports fan, loving NASCAR Racing and all other sports, but mostly known as a true NC State Wolfpack basketball fan. 

            Surviving in addition to his parents, Douglas and Ellen, is his sister, Audrey Cannon and Stacey, of Spruce Pine; brother, Chris Geouge and Sarah of Newdale; nephews and nieces:  John Cannon, Vaeh Cannon and Trenten Geouge.  Three special aunts and numerous cousins also survive. 

            Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 2nd at Morning Star Baptist Church.  Rev. Douglas Bare will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the services and at other times will be at the home of his sister Audrey at 801 Greenwood Rd. Spruce Pine, NC 28777. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the church cemetery.
