Lloyd Silvers, age 78, of Charlie Brown Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Clyde and Ruby Willis Silvers. He was also preceded by a brother, J.S. Silvers. He was a US Army Veteran. Lloyd was a member of Indian Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendant. He enjoyed fishing and hunting but mostly loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Sue Silvers; children: Lloyd Silvers, Jr. and wife, Christy, of Burnsville, Toyee Ayers and husband, Randy, of Green Mountain, Lynnella McCurry of Burnsville and Nannette Silvers of Burnsville; grandchildren: Faith Peterson and husband, Daniel, of Bakersville and Gracelynn Hope McCurry of Burnsville and great-grandson, Easton Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor Trent McKeehan will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
