Peggy Silvers, age 76, of the Penland Community, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, September 7th, 2018 at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Phillips and Lockie Honeycutt Phillips. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Vicky Lingerfelt and brother, JC Phillips. Peggy loved her family and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Andy Silvers; two daughters: Kim Silvers of Spruce Pine and Sandra Peterson of Burnsville; two sons: James Silvers of Marion and Ken Silvers and wife, Karrie, of Marion; grandchildren: Brandon Silvers, Brandy Silvers, Andrew Willis, Tre Peterson, Caleb Peterson, Faith Peterson, Noah Blake Peterson and Kalee Smith; siblings: Patsy Smith of Marion, Bobby Phillips of Burnsville and Tony Phillips of Marion. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Jacob Willis will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Newdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
