Wanda Bradley Melton, age 63, of Burnsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 10th 2019 at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of Annette Watts Troutman of Little Creek, the late Arnold D. Bradley, who passed in 2013 and her step-father, David E. Troutman, who passed away in September of 2018. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Otis Warren Melton, who passed away in December of 2017. Wanda loved collecting lighthouses, watching football and NASCAR racing.
Surviving is her son, Michael James Melton of Jacks Creek and daughter, Lisa Melton of Elizabethton, TN. She was a loving and devoted grandmother of four grandchildren: Anna Egan, Alex Melton, Kayla Melton and Chloe Melton. She is also survived by six sisters: Rita Bradley of Burnsville, Jean Bradley of Aiken, SC, Jan Bradley of Graniteville, SC, Brenda Bradley of Burnsville, Virginia Bradley of Shelby and Velma Bradley Lowe of Kalkaska, MI; three brothers: Nathan Bradley of Nebo, Chet Bradley of Burnsville and Matthew Bradley of Pineville, SC. Several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.
